Service Availability

Utility Marking: The Ohio Utilities Protection Service (OUPS) will mark utilities in the public right-of-way to ensure safety.

Conduit and Handhole Installation: Our boring contractor will start installing conduit and handholes using heavy equipment to drill underground and pull conduits between each handhole.

Safety Measures: The contractor will carefully excavate around all utilities to avoid any damage during the boring process.

Restoration: Once installation is complete, we will restore any disturbed grass or topsoil to its original condition.

This entire process will take a few weeks, but crews will only be in front of each home for a few days as they progress down the road.

Fiber Cable Installation: A different crew will install the primary or lateral fiber cable with minimal disturbance.

On-Site Work: Crews will be on-site for 3–4 days. This may include one day for pulling fiber and one to two days for installing splice closures.

Vault and Splice Work: Crews will build splice closures around vault locations, sometimes using a small trailer or van.

Completion and Testing: Once installation and testing are complete, the neighborhood will be ready for new customers to connect.

Aerial Service: The technician will hang the new fiber on a pole and drop it to your home.

Underground Service: The contractor will install a small conduit between your home and the nearest handhole, then pull the fiber cable through.

Running the Fiber Cable: The installer will run a fiber cable from the exterior drop to the location best determined by you and the installer.

Testing and Connecting: Once installation is complete, the installer will test the service and help you connect your devices.

Note: Inside and outside installations may occur simultaneously or at different times.
